WHO'S HARMONY SUSALLA?

A Textile Designer in Gualala, CA creating 100% GOTS certified

woven and knitted organic cotton fabric since 2005.
Before launching her own line, Harmony designed for:
Nate Berkus, Springs, Walmart, TJ Maxx, Costco,
Gertmenian, Mervyns, Tony Hawk, Hot Topic, Karen Neuburger, Macy’s, Bed Bath & Beyond, Kohl’s, Nordstoms, Fieldcrest, Target, Williams-Sonoma, and others.

Then one day in 2003 she walked into a Walmart store and saw rows and rows of her product and had an epiphany, because she didn't like what she saw. That day changed her life. She had designed textiles using toxic synthetic fibers, but what she felt and saw that day would end her career in the field. Harmony decided she had to do something to make the world a better place, not a place filled with disposable items filling up landfills and lasting thousands of years.

In 2005 Harmony Art Organic Fabric Design was launched. The company is a major contributor to the industry as we know it. The raw fibre is sourced and printed in India, however some is printed in the USA. We're grateful for Harmony Art and it's creator Harmony Susalla.
Our Collaboration
Silver Needle & Thread has been creating designs and selling Harmony Art fabric since our beginning in 2010. Over the years Harmony and I have shared our stories, struggles and successes, offering each other loyal support while being committed to the industry.

We have both watched it grow and become what it is today. But, we both know it still has a long way to go to be at what it should.
Until then we'll both keep on working, teaching and creating beautiful organic cotton products for fashion and home.
