Silver Needle & Thread is a full service custom sewing, dressmaking and fashion design company. We provide sewing services to cover all the stages
of your life to include, but not limited to: infant, kids, adult, bridal, special occasion, lounge and sleepwear and basic home needs. Our goal is to provide our clients with well constructed garments using the fabric, colors and styles they desire. There are no limitations on what we can sew for you.
We specialize in organic and natural fabrics offering organic cotton, organic hemp, organic linen, organic wool, peace silk, raw silk, bamboo and many blends. We take pride in sourcing a large amount of our fabrics from the United States. We also seek out fair trade fabrics supporting small farmers abroad. Many of our fabrics are also GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standards) certified the highest certification for textiles today. Our style selection is huge and our color options include hundreds of different shades offering you unimagined choices for creating a truly one-of-a-kind wardrobe or special garment.
Why organic? In order to produce the fabric no pesticides, herbicides or synthetic fertilizers are ever used; such practices eliminate harmful chemicals
from entering our ground water and air. It also protects the health of all workers in the industry and creates a better life for us all. Organic hemp is a prime example of a beautiful, strong and long lasting fiber whose plant resource actually heals the soil by adding vital nutrients back into the ground through the dropping of its leaf foliage during the growth stage. Natural and organic fabrics are filled with life: they breathe very well and allow air to circulate the body keeping you naturally cool and comfortable, they are soft and feel natural against the skin, some are even UV resistant (hemp) and all are completely biodegradable returning to the Earth harmlessly. How cool is that?

Our dressmakers and seamstresses have many years of experience and truly enjoy creating beautiful clothes that meet your specific needs. When you use your creativity you’ll be amazed by what is possible.
We offer consultations on body, fit and color analysis to further assist you with your garment selections. Making and designing your own clothes eliminates so many wasteful activities such as endless shopping and frustration because what you’re seeking is not in-season, the need for costly alterations and the purchase of inferior garments that don’t hold up to your standards. Creating your own clothes is satisfying, rewarding and just plain fun. We always encourage our clients to express who you truly are thru the clothes you wear.
